چکیده
Platonia insignis Mart. is a vegetable of the Clusiaceae Lindl., family that popularly known as “bacuri” in Brazil. It widely used folk medicine to treat human diarrheas and inflammatory diseases. has antiparasitic activity, antioxidant, anticarcinogenic action, addition vasorelaxant potential. The present study investigates leishmanicidal, cytotoxic genotoxic activities different biological systems, well chemical constituents hexane extract from P. seeds. analysis non-volatile was analyzed by GC/MS. A total sixteen main were detected saponifiable material (fatty acid methyl esters, ethyl ester, alcohols hydrocarbons). In unsaponifiable fraction, nineteen detected, including series n-alkanes prenylated xanthones gamma-mangostin component (70.23% components). results indicated seed significantly inhibits growth promastigote forms Leishmania amazonensis (IC50), displayed significant toxicity against Artemia salina Leach cytotoxicity genotoxicity V79 cell lines.
